The event showcased a variety of incredible Chinese cultural performances, bringing joy and excitement to the community. The UCA Lion Dance Team kicked off the festivities with an electrifying performance, filling with energy and good fortune! Last Sunday we successfully held the annual 86th Street New Year Lion Dance Parade with the United Chinese Association of Brooklyn Youth Lion Dance Team. Along the way, we visited local businesses to extend our New Year’s blessings, wishing them prosperity and success. The thunderous sound of drums and gongs attracted many residents, who stopped to watch and eagerly touched the lion’s head for good luck. The festive atmosphere was in full swing—wishing everyone great fortune in the Year of the Snake and continued good luck in the years to come.

Yesterday, we hosted the 2025 Lunar New Year Celebration at Golden City Seafood Restaurant, joined by elected officials, community leaders, partners, and our members to welcome the Year of the Snake! The event kicked off with a traditional lion dance and Choi Ching, followed by heartfelt New Year greetings from our distinguished guests. The celebration was filled with cultural performances, festive singing, and exciting lucky raffles !

We were delighted to participate in the Lunar New Year Parade the Year of the Snake on 18th Avenue on Sunday February 2nd, joining numerous friends in welcoming the arrival of the year of Snake and experiencing the festive atmosphere. Despite the cold weather, our lion dance team braved the chilly winds, marching from 61st Street to 83rd Street along 18th Avenue, passionately showcasing the rich traditions of the Chinese New Year.

Yesterday, we started our performances at IS.220, and today we delighted the crowd at P.S.101 Verrazano School. It's truly heartwarming to see the students' and teachers’ faces light up as they eagerly pat the lion head for luck and share their joy by giving red envelopes.

Yesterday’s cleanup was a remarkable success, made possible by the incredible efforts of our dedicated staff and volunteers. Their hard work and commitment ensured that our streets were not only cleaner but also safer for the environment. Thank you State Senator Iwen Chu for organizing this event.

Today’s flower arranging workshop is a great success! Members followed the instructor’s guidance to learn flower arrangement techniques. In the end , each member got to take their beautiful creations home and enjoy! A special thanks to Sue from 8 Ave Florist !

National Night Out was a tremendous success for both the NYPD 62nd Precinct and NYPD 61st Precinct. The evening was filled with a variety of games, entertainment, and a lively atmosphere, making it an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
